CSR or Corporate Social Responsibility, is an idea that businesses globally are rapidly adopting. It corresponds to businesses taking responsibility for their impact on society and the environment and giving back to society in a way to make things better.
In India, CSR rules were introduced in 2013. These rules apply to companies with a net worth of ₹500 crore or more or a turnover of ₹1,000 crore or more. It mandates the companies to spend 2% of their average net profits from the previous three financial years on CSR activities. Form CSR 1 Registration is a facility for registered NGOs like Trust, Society, Company registered under Section 8 of Companies Act, 2013, to get CSR funding from corporations and undertake CSR activities. MCA has mandated Form CSR 1 to be filed to Central Govt for getting Funds or for undertaking CSR activities. After successful registration the MCA issues a registration certificate to the NGO, which is valid for a duration of three years. After the expiry of the three-year period, the NGO can renew its registration by submitting a fresh application to the MCA.

CSR means corporate social responsibility, an obligation for certain corporate entities to give back part of their profits to society.
CSR 1 registration is a process through which an NGO can get itself registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) in order to carry out CSR activities and to avail various benefits under the Companies Act, 2013.
To get registered with the MCA under CSR 1, an NGO needs to submit an application in the prescribed format along with the required documents to the MCA.
Form CSR 1 is an application form to get corporate funding for NGOs.
After an NGO gets registration under CSR 1, it becomes eligible to receive donations from companies, which is 2% of their annual net profits, to be spent on CSR activities. Apart from this, the NGO can also apply for other CSR funds available under different government schemes.
